About Me

Hi, I’m Alyson!

I am a world traveler, an experienced product management professional, cat mom, auntie, partner, friend, and a person who loves to move through the world with curiosity and a taste for adventure.

I originally started this website to document my travels as I set off on what became an 18-month road trip around the United States in 2020. I crossed from the Pacific to the Atlantic and from the Canadian border to the Mexican border and back, multiple times. I did it solo, I did while I was working remotely full time, and I did it during a once-in-a-century pandemic! No social media album or even full website could capture all of my incredible experiences on that journey, but this was my best attempt to share what I was doing and seeing with my friends and family across the country.

Now that I am no longer a full time digital nomad I have settled in Providence, RI. I still travel as much as I can, although now I have a permanent home to return to. I’ve also expanded this website to showcase some of my professional accomplishments.

Some fun facts about me:

  • Obviously I’m an avid traveler – but did you know I’ve been to:
    • 49 US states (guess which one I’m missing!)
    • Half of the US National Parks (plus many, many other NPS properties)
    • Half of all the ballparks in the MLB
    • 17 countries… and counting!
  • I’m a certified scuba diver and have been diving in four different countries
  • I live in Providence, Rhode Island. This is the fourth US state I’ve called home. I am a native New Englander and East Coast gal down to my bones, so I am happy to be back in the Northeast.
  • I am a cat mom to a very chatty tuxedo cat named Clawdine (that’s her to the right!) and a dog stepmom to the big friendly Zuko (you can see him in the collage below!)
  • I graduated college in 2009 with six figures of student debt. As of September 2023, I officially paid off the last of my student loans and am now debt free!
  • I’m an ordained minister in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster
  • I am an avid birdwatcher. When people find this out about me they always ask what my favorite bird is, but my answer is always “the bird that I’m looking at right now!”
